A FEW THINGS we are very passionate about after your senior photo shoot are designing your products in person at the studio a week after your session. We want to get you back in the very next week while you are excited to see the images live.
When trying to decide on a senior portrait photographer, a few thing to consider are:
-
Does your photographer offer in-person viewing/ordering of your images?Â
-
Will you get to be involved in selecting your images for your album and wall portraits?
-
Will you get to pick out your album cover
-
Will you get to select your senior video music
-
Will your image reveal be by link only? Â
-
Will you get to touch and feel the products before you purchase them?
The answer to all the above questions at Suzanne Deaton Photography is YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
OUR FAVORITE PART OF THE LIVE IMAGE REVEAL IN THE STUDIO IS THE REACTION OF OUR SENIORS! The moms will often cry, and the SENIORS have been known to jump up and down. We even had one jump on the couch with excitement. Â
Â
The benefits of coming back to the studio to see your images are TENFOLD!Â
You will be led into our viewing room where you will see all the images in your gallery via slide show and big screen TV. YOU will get to narrow down the images and cull the ones you aren't in love with. You and your mom will agree on many and disagree on a few LOL! You will pick out products for the ones you are in love with and leave with a set of thumbnails to view at your convenience.Â
You will be given a timeline on the delivery of your digital files as well as when your prints will arrive.Â
You will be given a receipt and know what you have ordered and paid for.Â
How simple is that?Â
I've been in business for 20 years now, and, I can honestly say I didn't do live viewing, in person sales for the first 2 years and it's only because I didn't know about it LOL. Once I considered what a huge disservice I was doing to my clients I immediately switched to doing everything in person. Â
It has made all the difference in lessening mistakes, outlining expectations, thrilling my clients and keeping my connection with my clients very personal.Â

WANT TO SEE THE BEST OF LAKEN'S ALBUM UP CLOSE? HERE'S OUR FAVORITES
If you are a senior portrait photographer and you want to take your products to the next level here's my advice:
-
Keep your product line small by only offering one album in different sizes and 3 sizes of wall portraits instead of 15 or 20
-
Keep your pricing easy to understand. Don't confuse your clients with different mounting options like sintra, styrene, gatorboard, etc. YOU decide the medium it will be printed on based on your expertise and charge accordingly.Â
-
Visit the PPA convention Trade shows at least once a year and every time you want to change your products, so, just like your clients it's IN PERSON so you know what you are getting and paying for and can speak with a customer representative from your lab.
-
Choose printing labs wisely. Some have a prettier feel with a higher price tag. I shop for quality, great customer service and I am rarely disappointed. When a mistake is made, it's typically our fault. My favorite print lab is ACI, click link below.Â
