Campbell Calls it the SENIOR SLEEPIES . . .
There are lots of challenges when you are a senior in High School. We know the most popular concerns because they are common, thoughts about leaving your friends behind, leaving your childhood home, difficult schedules with advanced classes, cramming for the final exams, taking the last ACT, you name it, seniors are worried about various things.Â
For instance, I remember the pressure of choosing the LAST prom dress and making sure I had everything needed for my senior trip and the perfect graduation dress. But, I will admit, after 20 years photographing seniors, I have never heard of the "senior sleepies".Â
Well, leave it to Campbell Chaney to coin a phrase I will continue to use and love, the SENIOR SLEEPIES! Â
Campbell defines it as, "Pretty much making yourself wake up for school every morning to be on time."Â Â
If you know Campbell, you know this is just a part of her personality, outgoing, funny, and having the ability to put a unique and positive spin on just about everything! Of course being on time for senior year must be difficult! So much is going on that must keep these seniors up at night.
I have watched Campbell grow up, have been photographing her since she was literally a few weeks old, so we knew shooting senior pictures would be a blast.Â
Campbell knew she wanted to keep her senior pictures simple with only 3 looks so we could concentrate on her pictures being all about her and not just tons of outfits.
We created scenes/concepts around a beautiful flowy summer dress, her cheerleading outfit, and a simple black top and jeans for the studio.Â

Coming up with Campbell's Cheerleading idea was one of my favorite editorial concepts to photograph this year. I also was a proud Hazard Cheerleader (ahem,1987-1990) so the plaid skirt is my FAVORITE piece of FABRIC IN HISTORY! (This is a whole other blog post). . .
We brainstormed a year in advance to create a preppy, but vintage look for this sport she loves.Â
For Campbell's next look we wanted to incorporate the beauty of our Eastern Kentucky mountains, a place we can move freely, breathe deep, and have some fun. I hope you can see her personality traits shine through. She's fun, entertaining, hilarious, outgoing, and absolutely stunning to photograph. Her auburn locks are the colors only the sun dreams about, and her radiant smile is just contagious.Â
Â
She said about choosing our studio, "If you want Senior Pictures to show who you really are, you need Suzanne!"
We ended Campbells's session at the studio for some creative, fine art, water images!Â
Campbell is planning on attending the University of Kentucky and majoring in Nursing.
Good Luck Campbell! Everyone at SDP loves you!Â
