Allison is going to be a fashion designer so she brought one of her original designs with her for her senior portraits so they would reflect her unique style and heritage from Germany.Â
A Dirndl is regarded as a folk costume and was developed as the clothing of the Alpine peasants between the 16th and 18th centuries! Today, it is considered the traditional dress for women and girls in the Alps, and has particular designs associated with different regions.Â
I'm not sure how you spent your time during Quarantine, but I'll bet it wasn't spent creating and sewing your own Dirndl.Â
Allison attends Pikeville High School now and will major in fashion design as she heads off to college this fall.Â
